Back to the Woods (Goldwyn, 1918). Fine/Very Fine. Lobby Card Set of 8 (11" X 14").
Mabel Normand began her acting career at the age of sixteen with Biograph and soon became a major star of the company, usually appearing in comedic films. In 1912 she left Biograph and signed a contract with Keystone, where she appeared in numerous feature length films that elevated her status to comic genius. Many consider her to have been the most brilliant female comic star of the silent screen era. Offered here is a complete set to one of Normand's comedy features, a film now lost, as are most of her films. She plays a rich woman who moves to the backwoods, posing as a school teacher, in hopes of finding a "real man." The cards are in very nice condition, with the exception of having their right borders slightly trimmed. The title card has a faint stain and most of the cards have light creases and edge wear.

    Estimate: $400 - $800.
