The Nightmare Before Christmas (Touchstone, 1993). Barrier Strip (Lenticular Type 3-D) One Sheet (27" X 40").
Since its release just over twenty-five years ago, Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas has become a permanent addition list of films viewed during the holiday season. As the popularity of the film has grown, demand for original posters has risen. No poster from the stop-motion musical fright fest is more sought after than this rare "Hell's Gate" style, which was never sent to theaters. Produced out of photographic material laminated onto plexiglass that creates a 3-D effect, referred to in the industry as a barrier strip image, the poster features an eerily fun filled scene of fan-favorite characters. Jack Skellington, Sally, The Mayor and the impish trio Lock, Shock and Barrel. It's thought that only 25-30 were made, as they were produced for an '"in-house" promotion or as a prototype/concept poster that was ultimately refused by the studio. Created by artist Grayson Marshall. This scarce poster has very minor separation of the laminate on the lower right edge and lower left corner. It also has some very slight surface scratches that are not really noticeable and don't affect the image at all. Very Fine+.
