The Art of Walt Disney: From Mickey Mouse to the Magic Kingdom by Christopher Finch (Abrams, 1973). First Edition Hardbound Book (458 Pages, 11" X 13.75"). Animation.
If you've waited for something truly special about the Walt Disney legend, this is it! This is a first edition, 1973 copy of the Christopher Finch, "labor-of-love", book put together with great care using many unpublished drawings, paintings, cels, and photos, direct from the Walt Disney archives. Mickey appears on the front cover in a 3-D applied cutout figure, complete with paint brush and paint can. There are an amazing 763 illustrations and 351 full color plates, several of which are four-page foldouts. You can follow a project from just an idea, through the preliminary design process, to the creation process, ending with the finished product! Every facet of Disney and his life's work is here in lavish exhibition. An unrestored book with bright color and a clean overall appearance. It may have general signs of use, such as tears in the plastic dust cover, and some light smudging in the front and back covers. Internally, the pages are near mint. Please see full-color, enlargeable image below for more details. Very Fine-.
