    Description

    Terry-Toon Cartoons (20th Century Fox, 1941). One Sheet (27" X 41") "The Baby Seal."
Paul Terry, the founder of the prolific Terry-Toons animation house, had little artistic ambition and no interest in innovating the medium. The key to surviving Disney's dominance was to keep costs low, and by aiming for the bargain basement, he hit upon a mode of production -- cel animation -- that not only offered a cheap alternative, but also allowed animators to use more richly textured backgrounds. This rare one sheet for the Terry-Toons short "The Baby Seal" is packed with characters from the series in vivid color. Only fold and cross fold separation with very small paper loss and tape on the verso, edge wear with tears, and pinholes in the corners keep this piece from grading higher. Fine/Very Fine.
