Starting with the auction that closes on Sunday, September 29, Heritage's Weekly Online Movie Poster Auctions will be changed to the Extended Bidding format.

In an Extended Bidding auction, anyone can bid until 6PM CT the night the auction closes, then anyone who has already bid on any lot may continue to bid on those lots until there are no more bids for 10 minutes. This will replace the Heritage Live session that now occurs at the end of the auction.

    Description

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (RKO, 1937). One Sheet (27.5" X 41.25") Style B.
This incredibly delightful film has quite the storied history. It's a near miracle it ever left the drawing board, given that Walt Disney was openly disparaged when he announced his idea for producing a full length animated film. Fortunately for cinema fans the world over, Disney's instincts proved stronger than the naysayers. Investing $1.5 million of his own money and three years of toil, Disney's gamble was rewarded. The film became an immediate success, garnering 8.5 million Depression-era dollars. In Technicolor splendor, the picture introduces audiences to the charm of angelic Snow White (voiced by Adriana Caselotti), who falls prey to the nasty queen (esteemed stage actress Lucille La Verne). Perhaps even more endearing are the devoted seven dwarfs, who continue to win the hearts of audiences nearly eight decades later. They are splendidly rendered at the hands of artist Gustaf Tenggren on this one sheet, as they surround the serenely smiling Snow White. Bright and vivid color brings to life the brilliantly conceived cast of characters based on the 1812 Brothers Grimm fairly tale. This iconic sheet has been expertly restored to address pinholes in the corners, edge wear, fold wear with crossfold separations, and a chip in the right border. The white area at the bottom of the poster below the blue oval with the title, and the white area with the tagline above the image at the top have both been entirely replaced. The poster has been fully and expertly restored with the result being a stunning poster that displays very well and which will be a highlight for one proud owner. Good/Very Good on Linen.
