    Description

Popeye (Paramount, 1941). Stock One Sheet (27" X 41") "Olive Oyl and Water Don't Mix."
Beloved by children and comic lovers for generations, Elzie Chrisler Segar's famous comic strip character, Popeye, first came to life on the big screen next to Betty Boop in a 1933 short, quickly rising to even greater popularity with a wider fanbase. Soon enough, everyone's favorite spinach-chugging sailor began starring in his own shorts, and has been charming audiences in theaters and on television screens ever since. This fantastic stock poster had pinholes in the corners, a small sliver of loss in the upper left corner, and a minor chip in the left border and upper crossfold. Touchup has been applied to the folds. The poster has a title snipe from the 1942 short Olive Oyl and Water Don't Mix, and the poster has begun lifting at the horizontal folds. Very Fine on Linen.
