    Description

    Pinocchio (RKO, 1940). Hungarian Pre-War Poster (12" X 37") and Postcard (4" X 5").
It's impossible not to smile and feel a wave of childhood nostalgia when gazing at this darling poster featuring Carlo Collodi's beloved wooden puppet, Pinocchio, and his sidekick Jiminy Cricket. After his unimaginable success with his first animated feature Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Walt Disney delivered this treasure, yet another audience favorite. Dick Jones voices Pinocchio, Cliff Edwards stars as Jiminy Cricket, Christian Rub as Geppetto, and Evelyn Venable as the Blue Fairy. A very special find, the poster offered here is a rare Hungarian version, most likely released shortly before that country entered WWII on the side of the Axis. An added bonus is a full color postcard with a tiny fold-out booklet filled with wonderful images from the film, and the storyline in Hungarian on the verso. The poster has been professionally restored to address pinholes in the imprint area, and left and bottom edge wear. The piece has never been folded and artwork is attributed to P. Kiss. The postcard shows only a paper lift on the verso. Very Fine- on Linen.
