Following the success of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Walt Disney embarked on an even bigger project when he chose to lead his team of talented collaborators in adapting the children's novel, The Adventures of Pinocchio. Written by the Italian author Carlo Collodi and originally released in 1883, Pinocchio's source material proved more challenging to shape into an animated feature than Snow White, seeing as Snow White was based on a short story made longer and Pinocchio a novel from which much would need to be discarded and/or changed. Nevertheless, the studio and its fearless leader persevered, and although not a box office success in its initial release, Pinocchio has become one of the most beloved Disney films, inspiring several remakes and turning the titular character into a cultural icon. Professional restoration has brilliantly corrected edge and fold wear, pinholes, and creases. Color fading remains visible. Property from a Distinguished Collection.
