Peter Pan by Guiliano Nistri (RKO, 1953). Very Fine. Signed Original Mixed Media Proposal Artwork on Paper (9" X 12").A concept piece created very early on as a draft for the movie's Italian poster, this colorful and exciting illustration by Giuliano Nistri is making its debut appearance at Heritage. Nistri created several potential designs for Walt Disney's Peter Pan, with this swashbuckling image being the most action-filled of his proposed ideas. Much like his brother, Enzo, Giuliano worked on numerous Italian posters, including My Fair Lady, Black Sunday, Son of Godzilla, La Notte, Dial M for Murder, and Le Mepris, among many others. Signed by the artist at the bottom, much of the wear found on this item most likely occurred during the artistic process, such as smudges and surface rippling. The left border looks to have been added during the making of this piece, as it is made from a strip of paper adhered to the rest of the illustration on the verso. A great representation of J. M. Barrie's fantastic story, this illustration would be a fun addition to any Disney collection.
