Mr. Bug Goes to Town (Paramount, 1941). One Sheet (27" X 41").
Radiating crisp color and overflowing with merriment, this one sheet is perfect for animation collectors! The Lowlands lie in a vacant lot off of Broadway and houses a vibrant community... of bugs and insects. There is Hoppity the grasshopper, Mr. Bumble, the bee who operates the gathering spot, The Honey Shop, and his daughter Honey Bee, who loves Hoppity; C. Bagley Beetle, the ruthless businessman who betrays the community out of greed; Smack the mosquito and Swat the fly, Mr. Beetle's comic-relief henchmen; and little Buzz, a young bee and a member of the Bee Scouts. When plans for a skyscraper threaten the Lowlands, Hoppity decides to take action and must battle Beetle for the welfare of the community and the heart of Honey Bee. Touchup has been applied to the folds with chips, tears in the borders and image area, and pinholes in the interior. Still visible are some creases, smudging, and faint writing bleedthrough. Fine/Very Fine on Linen.
