    Description

    Gulliver's Travels (Paramount, 1949). Folded, Very Fine+. First Post-War German A1 (23.25" X 33") Heinz Schulz-Neudamm Artwork.
This wonderful German poster for the Fleischer animated classic was designed by Heinz Schultz-Neudamm (1899-1969), one of the country's great graphic illustrators who created the classic Metropolis poster. Done in a stone litho process, the poster displays the MPEA logo, which was used on all films distributed in the occupied country from 1945 until 1949. In the late 1930s, after Disney had a box-office smash hit with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Paramount asked the Fleischer Brothers to come up with an equally successful full-length animated film, even going so far as building the animators a new studio in Miami, Florida. The result is this exquisite picture, based on Jonathan Swift's 1726 novel about the citizens of Lilliput Island and their encounter with the giant shipwrecked Gulliver. The poster only shows such minimal signs of handling like light edge wear and very minor fold wear and separations.
