    Description

    Fantasia (RKO, R-1946). Title Lobby Card & Lobby Cards (6) (11" X 14").
This ambitious Walt Disney production was developed from an animated short based on Paul Kukas' musical piece, "The Sorcerer's Apprentice." The eight minute short featured Mickey Mouse, and was orchestrated by Leopold Stokowski. So impressed were Disney and Stokowski with their creation that they opted to expand the project into a feature length picture. Incorporated are classical arrangements Tchaikovsky's "Nutcracker Suite," Bach's "Toccata and Fugue in D Minor," Schubert's "Ave Maria," Stravinsky's "The Rite of Spring," and more. Heritage is pleased to offer these beautiful lobby cards from the 1946 reissue for the first time. They feature delightful imagery of faeries, alligators and elephants, dancing toadstools, and Mickey Mouse himself, in his most powerful dramatic role to date! General wear in the cards may include slight edge and corner wear, or unobtrusive smudges. The title card has a very minor chip in the upper right corner and a tear in the left border, and the Ostrich card has additional surface paper lifts in the upper border. The "Sorcerer's Apprentice" card also shows unobtrusive staining, staple holes in the corners, and light surface rippling. Overall Grade: Very Fine-.
