Fantasia (RKO, 1940). Fine-. Roadshow Window Card (14" X 22").
Walt Disney's animated masterpiece began as a short film inspired by Paul Dukas' "The Sorcerer's Apprentice", featuring Mickey Mouse and orchestrated by Leopold Stokowski. Impressed by the final result, Disney and Stokowski saw its potential and decided to expand it into a full-length feature. This ambitious project evolved into Fantasia, a groundbreaking blend of animation and classical music that redefined the possibilities of animated filmmaking. The original roadshow version of Fantasia ran 125 minutes, featuring a few differences from the widely known 115-minute version. Music critic, teacher, and classical enthusiast Deems Taylor provided the inter-song monologues, which were originally more extensive and detailed. In later releases, these monologues were significantly shortened or removed to make the film more accessible to general audiences. This stunning window card depicts figures from all of the film's greatest sequences and is just a second-time offering from Heritage. There are toning, tears and scratches, and an amateur restoration has replaced the top left corner. A rare piece of Disneyana.
