    Description

Flip the Frog (MGM, 1930). Stock One Sheet (27" X 41").
Created and illustrated by the legendary Ub Iwerks and the first cartoon produced by the animator after leaving Walt Disney, Flip the Frog was MGM's first sound cartoon character. The series premiered on August 16, 1930 with a film entitled Fiddlesticks and continued for 38 shorts, ending in 1933. Fiddlesticks, utilized the two color Technicolor process, becoming the first color sound cartoon ever made. The rest of the Flip series, except for Techno-Cracked (1933), were made in black and white. Flip went through a metamorphosis as the series progressed; he became less frog-like and looked more human. This is the extremely scarce and coveted stock poster that features Flip the Frog as he originally appeared at the beginning of the series. Touchup has been applied to the folds and corners, and a tear from the bottom left corner into the background. Fine+ on Paper.
