DescriptionFarmyard Symphony (RKO, 1938). One Sheet (27" X 41").
From 1929 to 1939 Disney's Silly Symphony series proved a unique blend of imaginative animation and music. This is one of the later entries, and it's a charmer. Compared to the earliest symphony shorts, you can visually track how Disney animators "went to school" on this series, honing their craft, and paving the way for their incredible work to come in the full length projects. The image is as lively as the cartoon itself, with the brash colt laughing at the odd-man-out piglet without a meal, while the baby chicks peep their encouragement. There were pinholes in the corners and borders, a small paint spot in the bottom center border, and slight foldwear. There were small chips in the right and left border, and a small chip in the right image area. With expert linenbacking and beautiful pastel colors, this poster will fit into the finest animation collection. Fine/Very Fine on Linen.
Estimate: $5,000 - up.
