DescriptionAngel and the Badman (Republic, 1947). One Sheet (27" X 41").
In one of the truly classic John Wayne films, Wayne portrays a wounded gunslinger who is taken in by a Quaker family and nursed back to health by their daughter (Gail Russell). While there, the girl's lifestyle affects him and makes him question the way he lived his former life. It was a deep performance for Wayne and it would make this one of his best films. Original posters for this title have always been scarce, and this particular piece has undergone restoration to repair fold wear, pinholes in the background, some chipping and tears in the borders and folds. There were a couple of tears into the background, a tear at the upper border into John Wayne's credit, and there were also a few chips in Wayne's face and hand at the top. The poster still shows some slight, unaddressed edge wear. Fine+ on Linen.
Estimate: $1,000 - $2,000.
