DescriptionAkira: Volume 1 (Young, 1984). Folded, Very Fine. Japanese Newstand Poster (13.5" X 28.75").
Spawning the surge of popularity for manga series outside of Japan and the cyberpunk genre itself, Katsuhiro Otomo's AKIRA has been reprinted, translated, and adapted into many different formats from its original, serialized release in Young Magazine. This Japanese newstand poster advertises for the first ever B5 sized bundled volume release in 1984, which vastly exceeded expected sales and the initial print run of 30,000 copies due to its popularity. A first time offer from Heritage, this poster has slight fold wear, light creases, and faint foxing.
Estimate: $500 - $1,000.
