    Akira (Toho, 1987). Rolled, Very Fine+. Japanese B2 (20" X 29") Style C.
Heritage is proud to present this extremely rare poster for the first time. From one of the most famous and influential stories to ever come out of Japan, Katsuhiro Otomo's original manga and subsequent anime adaptation have been favorites for fans of Japanese media spanning decades. Style C B2 posters for the film rarely ever surface, as very few were ever in circulation. This is purportedly due to certain studio executives finding the image of protagonist Kaneda's back to the viewers disrespectful. In great condition, this Japanese poster shows only light edge wear, slight creases, a couple of minute tears, and unobtrusive smudges. Although there are some convincing reproductions of this poster that are presented as originals, we have confirmed this B2's authenticity via a few key details. The blue background on true style C posters retains more of its color and brightness towards the title, whereas the blue printing tends to fade closer to the bottom on reproductions. Also of note is the look of the paper itself, which should have a very light sheen and be slightly off white in color on the verso. Fakes tend to have a more matte look to the paper and be minty white in color on the verso. Rolled, Very Fine+.
