Description

Wrigley's Gum (Wrigley's, 1950s). Fine+. Trolley Card (11" X 28") Otis Shepard Artwork. Advertising.
Otis Shepard, the art director for the Wrigley Company, created numerous advertisements of all sorts for their main product, chewing gum. Although he and his wife, Dorothy, are well known for their creation of the Doublemint Twins, Shepard also used the relatable motif of daydreaming average Americans to great effect. Likening the unusual flavor of Juicy Fruit to the exciting fantasies of hum-drum workers, these colorful trolley cards are great glimpses of decades past. An unrestored poster with good color and an overall very presentable appearance. It may have slight edge wear, small corner bumps, minimal paper lifts, minute tears, or edge toning.
