DescriptionThe Gaucho (United Artists, 1927). Lobby Card Set of 8 (11" X 14").
Douglas Fairbanks stars as the unscrupulous title character who steals alms from the poor, but after finding love with a good woman, and plenty of daredevil action, the Gaucho has a change of heart and discovers salvation. Fairbanks's wife Mary Pickford has a cameo as the Virgin Mary, and Lupe Velez shines in her first starring role, as the Mountain Girl. This colorful set has been professionally restored to address pinholes in four cards, and a corner bend in each card. All of the cards have had the right border replaced. These issues are no longer apparent, and this very rare set from one of Fairbanks's top titles, is stunning to behold. Very Good+.
Estimate: $1,800 - up.
