    Description

The Count of Monte Cristo Lot (United Artists, 1934). Photos (3) (8" X 10"). Adventure.
Vintage, gelatin silver, single weight, glossy photo. Starring Robert Donat, Elissa Landi, Louis Calhern, Sidney Blackmer, Raymond Walburn, Irene Hervey. Directed by Rowland V. Lee. This lot also includes two vintage gelatin silver, single weight, glossy photos from Hearts in Bondage (Republic, 1936) starring Mae Clarke, James Dunn, and Fritz Lieber. Photo # 3535-134 has James Dunn about to land a left hook on fine character actor, Pat Flaherty, in a scarce photo. Flaherty played professional football for the Chicago Bears in 1923 and was a great baseball player also. It was Flaherty who coached Gary Cooper how to pitch in Pride of the Yankees. Unrestored photos with bright color and a clean overall appearance. Two of the photos have punch holes in the left border, most likely for insertion in a keybook. One has surface water blotches, and two have names in grease pencil on the verso. Please see full-color, enlargeable image below for more details. Very Fine.
