Description

The African Queen (United Artists, 1952). Very Fine on Linen. British One Sheet (26.75" X 39.75").
This very rare country-of-origin one sheet (as this was a joint U.S./U.K. production) boasts stunning graphics and portraits, perfectly capturing the essence of one of the true classics of the silver screen. The African Queen features the legendary Humphrey Bogart and Katharine Hepburn in unforgettable roles. The film, an adaptation of C.S. Forester's novel, was scripted by renowned critic James Agee and masterfully directed by John Huston. It tells the gripping story of an unlikely partnership between a prim, aging spinster and a hard-drinking, rough-around-the-edges riverboat captain as they embark on a dangerous mission down a treacherous river to take on a German gunboat during World War I. This striking poster has repaired pinholes and a trace of touchup along the folds, but is otherwise in beautiful condition. This is only a third-time offering from Heritage, so fans of this veritable classic will not want to miss their chance to own this rare poster. Property from a Distinguished Collection.
