Description

The Adventures of Robin Hood (Warner Brothers, 1938). Three Sheet (41" X 81"). Warner Brothers originally planned for James Cagney to the play the title, but he quit the studio, delaying the production for three years. Errol Flynn performed the role with such relish that he created the standard for all future Robin Hoods, and created for himself Hollywood immortality. Despite this career-defining part, he actually found the character boring, perhaps too noble for anything but one-note heroics. He adopts his most romantic pose in this very rare three sheet -- clutching Maid Marian on the back of his rearing horse -- and while all art on this film is highly sought after, this poster is perhaps the one most in demand. We believe there to be fewer than four copies extant in this format. The poster is mounted on linen which has been trimmed to the edges of the poster. It is in superb condition with almost no color touchup to be seen! You could wait many years to see another copy as clean as this! Very Fine+ on Linen.
