Description

Rulers of the Sea (Paramount, 1939). Keybook Portrait and Scene Photos (289) (8" X 11"). Adventure.
Here's a very rare chance at a complete, intact, 1930's keybook for a great sea saga about the first steamship voyage across the Atlantic, directed by three-time Oscar winner, Frank Lloyd. Virtually every aspect of the production is covered...behind the scenes shots, portraits of all the main stars including great shots of one of the best scene-stealers ever to grace film, Will Fyffe. Look for Alan Ladd!! Vintage gelatin silver, double weight, black and white, keybook photos. Starring Douglas Fairbanks Jr., Margaret Lockwood, Will Fyffe, George Bancroft, Montagu Love, Alan Ladd, Vaughan Glaser, David Torrence, Lester Matthews, Alec Craig, Barlowe Borland, Wilson Benge, Harry Allen, Barry Macollum, David Cavendish, David Clyde, Charles McAvoy, Lawrence Grant, John Power, William Haade. Directed by Frank Lloyd. Unrestored keybook photos with bright color and a clean overall appearance. They may have general signs of use, such as studio cut corners in the lower right on several, standard punch holes in the left borders for insert into the keybook, a few have emulsion spotting, there are faint scratches and dings on a few, several have toning, but by and large the majority of the 289 photos are in excellent condition. Many have studio printed information on the back, and most have Advertising Council Advisory date stamps on the verso. The photos come with the original keybook binder and posts. Please see full-color, enlargeable image below for more details. The overall grade is Very Fine-.
