DescriptionCaptain Blood (Warner Brothers, 1935). Half Sheet (22" X 28"). Alex Raymond Art Style.
There's little doubt why collectors search high and low, coast to coast, for this half sheet. The wonderful artwork is by the talented Alex Raymond. Those who love great comic strip art and collect Flash Gordon, Jungle Jim, Secret Agent X-9, and many more, know the name. How fitting that the film that launched Errol Flynn into film immortality would be served by such a great illustrator. An incredibly popular film, the attrition rate on paper for this title is higher than usual, hence the scarcity of pieces available. Professionally paperbacked, there were tears in the borders, with two small ones that appear in the bottom border to be post-restoration. There were three holes in the left border, and small tears and tack holes in the image. Very Good- on Paper.
