Description
Red Dawn (MGM, 1984). Very Fine- on Illustration Board. Matted Mixed Media Concept Artwork (19.5" X 27.5").Among the cast prominently displayed on this concept artwork are Charlie Sheen in his second credited movie role, as well as Lea Thompson and Jennifer Grey standing next to Patrick Swayze, with whom Grey would star in the hit Dirty Dancing three years later. This piece depicts a soviet invasion of America, a plot born from Cold War tensions which only a rag-tag group of teenagers can stop. Comprised of photo overlays, as well as an acetate overlay with painted lettering, this artwork shows most of its wear on the acetate covering. Signs of handling include soft surface scuffs and rippling, possibly from the matting process. Although devoid of most issues, the underlying photographic work has a paratrooper that has come loose from the upper background. The artwork's matting has a bit of writing in the lower right corner and some staining at the top. Very Fine- on Illustration Board.
