    Description

His Hidden Purpose (Paramount, 1918). One Sheet (28" X 42").
Chester Conklin and Marie Provost make a charming pair on this stone litho one sheet from the silent comedy His Hidden Purpose. Conklin, who first gained fame working for Mack Sennett in the Keystone Kops shorts, went on to starring comedic roles in the 1920s, and appeared in films until 1966. Marie Prevost began as a Sennett "Bathing Beauty" in 1917 and went on to have top billing in a series of silent films throughout the 1920s. As her star power waned in the 1930s, she unfortunately had an infamous Hollywood tragic ending. A Heritage first, this rare poster displays beautifully after professional restoration. Touchup was applied to the folds. Very Fine+ on Linen.
