Deliverance (Warner Bros, 1972). Folded, Very Fine-. Poster (40" X 60") Advance, Life Magazine Style.
Deliverance revolves around a band of friends, led by Burt Reynolds, who go on a rafting trip in attempt to get away from city life and just "rough it." Soon after the trip begins, they accidentally get on the bad side of the locals, and a couple of true degenerate mountain men take deadly fun with the group. Jon Voight, Ronny Cox and Ned Beatty round out the cast of unfortunate weekend warriors. The book's author, James Dickey, fashioned a first-rate screenplay. Vilmos Zsigmond's cinematography and John Boorman's direction were right on the money. In this lot is the very scarce 40" X 60" advance poster, using pages from a LIFE Magazine feature, with terrific images from the film. Interestingly, there is an image of Voight with his new bride, Marcheline Bertand, Angelina Jolie's mother, on the print. The poster was printed on a lighter weight stock than typical 40" X 60"s and thus was shipped folded. This copy has some edge wear, slight border fold separation as well as crossfold separation.
