DescriptionWest Side Story by Boris Grinsson (United Artists, Early 1960s). Folded, Fine+. Signed French Original Concept Mixed Media Artwork on Paper (36.75" X 57.75").
Boris Grinsson paints one of the more iconic images from this Shakespeare-inspired musical in eye-catching colors for this special piece of concept art created for the George V Theater in Paris. The film had its longest run at the theater, which continuously screened the picture for over four months and eight months from the date of its original release. Unbacked, this signed Heritage first has received restoration to correct some paper loss in two corners, a gouge in the upper right background, and tears into the interior. Visible wear includes pinholes, mild creases, surface scuffs, some stains and smudges.
Estimate: $800 - $1,600.
