    Description

The Sound of Music (20th Century Fox, 1965). Lobby Card Set of 9 (11" X 14") Howard Terpning Title Card Artwork.
With music by Rodgers and Hammerstein and directed by Robert Wise, Fox brought one of the greatest musicals to the screen with "The Sound of Music." This was a true account of the musical Von Trapp family who were forced to flee Austria with the rise of the Nazi's before the outbreak of World War II. The roadshow posters for this film are the most desirable and we rarely see this full 9 card set. Some cards have pinholes, corner bumps, light creases, and paper tape on the verso. One card has a surface blemish in Christopher Plummer's image. The title card has a couple of small border tears, some slight stains to the left, and a gouge in one of the children's faces that has been repaired with cellophane tape on the verso. Very Fine-.
