    Director Billy Wilder, known for his many hit comedies, takes a serious turn with this look at the life of an alcoholic, for which he won Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Writing. A frank and gripping storyline follows Ray Milland's character as his frustration and insecurities lead him to a binge weekend which becomes a living nightmare for the writer and his girlfriend played by Jane Wyman. Milland also won an Academy Award and this is considered one of his finest performances. This rare insert has been professionally restored to address pinholes in the borders, and fold wear. There are two minor spots under the title. Fine/Very Fine on Paper.
