Description
On the Waterfront (Columbia, 1954). One Sheet (27" X 41").This hard-hitting film about unions and organized crime in the shipyards took the Academy Awards by storm, garnering Oscars for Best Picture, Director (Elia Kazan), Actor (Marlon Brando) and Actress (Eva Marie Saint) and remains one of the best films from the 1950s. This one sheet depicts Brando in his greatest role, as Terry Malloy, a former professional fighter who is conned by his brother into not ratting-out the crime boss of the union (Lee J. Cobb), but whose conscience forces him to make a stand. There has been color touch up to all of the fold lines and there were a few minor tears in the edges. The upper corners each had a small hole in them that has been repaired and there is a slight bit of bleed through in Brando's head from grease pencil on the verso. There is also an area of white color painted next to Brando's head and in the bottom next to the title. Fine+ on Linen.
