    Description

Lawrence of Arabia (Columbia, 1962). Roadshow Poster (40" X 60").
Peter O'Toole confirmed his status as a screen legend with his unforgettable portrayal of T.E. Lawrence, in this epic adventure from director David Lean. Based on Lawrence's book, The Seven Pillars of Wisdom, the film is a colossal depiction of the revolt of the Arabs against the Ottoman empire during World War I. Boasting an incredible supporting cast that includes Alec Guinness, Anthony Quinn, and Omar Sharif, the film would earn seven Academy Awards, including Best Director, Best Score, and Best Picture. This is the first time Heritage has offered this large format poster, which features the iconic and highly desired artwork of Howard Terpning as seen on the style A Roadshow one sheet. Prior to restoration, there were pinholes in the corners not affecting the background, a crease in the white background near the credits, and the poster was folded several times. Touchup work has been done to the folds, and the borders and white area near the credits have been airbrushed. The poster displays beautifully. Collectors will not want to miss out on the opportunity to own this rare and magnificent gem, from one of the greatest films in motion picture history. Fine/Very Fine on Linen.
