Description
Lawrence of Arabia (Columbia, 1962). Fine/Very Fine on Linen. One Sheet (27" X 42"). Roadshow Style B.A landmark in cinematic history, this sweeping epic from fifty years ago set the bar for all others that followed. Peter O'Toole was never more magnificent than as Britisher T.E. Lawrence, who becomes increasingly involved in the politics of Arabia in World War I, and begins to lose his sense of allegiance and identity. Exceptional performances by costars Alec Guinness, Omar Sharif and Anthony Quinn, along with unparalleled cinematography, sets, and music, earned this film seven Academy Awards, including one for director David Lean. This one sheet has benefitted from professional restoration and no longer shows slight fold wear, small chips, and a thin scratch through the "F" in the title and into Peter O'Toole's image. There is airbrushing in the upper yellow background to address writing bleedthrough, and the lower white background and borders have also been airbrushed. The poster still shows a bit of misregistration in the image. Posters for this title are always in high demand.
