    Description

Gone with the Wind (MGM, 1939). Fine/Very Fine on Paper. One Sheet (27.5" X 41") Style CP, Armando Seguso Artwork.
There has never been, and perhaps there will never be, a Civil War epic so grand and influential as Gone with the Wind. Victor Fleming's masterwork was a hit from the very beginning, breaking records for both Academy Award nominations and Oscar wins, including the major categories of Outstanding Picture, Best Director for Fleming, Best Actress for Vivien Leigh's iconic Scarlet O'Hara, and the revolutionary win of Hattie McDaniel for Best Supporting Actress. The movie also benefitted from a stunning advertising campaign with the artwork of Armando Seguso, exemplified by the gorgeous illustration of Leigh on this one sheet, an exceedingly scarce poster Heritage very rarely has the opportunity to offer. It has been mounted on paper and has some touchup at the folds and a couple of small tears. There is also a tear from the top edge into the upper background, a few small chips in the borders with splices, a paper lift below the illustration on the left, some faint writing bleedthrough, and a chip in the right border that is still visible. The poster has some scattered stains that are unaddressed, particularly towards the bottom of the poster. The majority of Seguso's incredible image is free of issues and retains its beautiful original coloring.
