Description
Gone with the Wind (MGM, 1939). Fine on Linen. One Sheet (27" X 41") Style DP, Armando Seguso Artwork.Considered to be one of the rarest of the Gone with the Wind one sheets, this poster features artwork by Armando Seguso, who was responsible for most of the illustration for the film's original 1939 poster in addition to other advertising materials from its initial release. Depicting Rhett Butler (Clark Gable) and Scarlett O'Hara (Vivien Leigh) in the memorable charity bazaar scene, this special poster is unique in that most of the DP style printings included a text covering part of the dancing women in the lower half of the poster, and the one offered here excludes the text allowing Seguso's design to be fully appreciated. Before backing on linen the poster had fold wear, tape stains within the borders, a few small tears or nicks, subtle fold separation, and minor paper loss in the top right corner which has been replaced. The linen has been trimmed to the edges and no further restoration has been applied. Some of the flaws are still visible.
