Casablanca (Warner Bros., R-1949). Folded, Fine+. Italian Photobusta (13.5" X 9.5").
A debut item at Heritage, this very rare photobusta should be high on the list of classic collectors everywhere. All four of the film's major players, Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergman, Paul Henreid, and Claude Rains, make an appearance in this "Letter of Transit" scene, leading up to one of the greatest climaxes in movie history. Photobustas from this set are exceptionally scarce, so much so that we have only sold two other pieces from the same set. This particular photobusta has received light partial touchup to such issues as slight fold wear, pinholes, and paper lifts. Also touched up are a few creases, unobtrusive stains, and small tears, although these and the aforementioned issues are still somewhat visible. There is a minor chip in the first "A" of "Casablanca" as well as a couple of small chips in the right border extending slightly into the background that have colored splices. There are strips of cellophane tape on the verso along the folds and at a few places along the borders. Regardless, this photobusta would be a great addition to any Casablanca collection.
