In the film, Eve (Baxter) manages to weave her way into the lives of numerous successful Broadway actors and actresses in an attempt to fulfil her own goals. Nominated for 14 Academy Awards, and winner of six, including Best Picture, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Director, the film is widely considered as one of the best ever written.
