    Description

Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein (Universal International, 1948). Lobby Cards (2) (11" X 14").
Comedy team Bud Abbot and Lou Costello made this widely successful comeback film after their careers floundered in the post-war years. This moneymaker featured some of Universal Studios' biggest horror stars reprising their most famous roles, with Bela Lugosi as Count Dracula, Lon Chaney Jr. as the Wolf Man, and Glenn Strange as Frankenstein's Monster. This vehicle would lead A&C into twelve more feature films, many starring the Universal monsters. Both of these lobby cards have been restored to address pinholes in the borders and backgrounds, tears from the upper border into the image area, and have had touchup applied to the borders. The card featuring Lugosi and Costello has a tear in the bottom border, another from the right border into Costello's arm with some surface paper loss, a hole in Costello's shoulder, staples holes in the background and Lugosi's image, and some touchup to Lugosi's hand and face. There are some light post-restoration creases in the card featuring Glenn Strange. From the Collection of Lynn Naron. Overall Grade: Fine+.
