Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein (Universal International, 1948). Folded, Very Fine. One Sheet (27" X 41").
Produced late in the cycle of Universal's monster movies that began in 1931, Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein was the first film to team the popular comedy duo with some of Universal's most recognizable monsters. In addition to meeting Frankenstein's monster (played by Glenn Strange reprising his role from House of Frankenstein), Abbott and Costello encounter the Wolf Man and Dracula, both whom were played by their original actors Lon Chaney Jr. and Bela Lugosi respectively. This one sheet captures the fun and whimsey of Abbott and Costello's monstrous misadventures which would prompt Universal to follow the same team-up format a few more times before moving on from their classic monster series. The poster has light edge wear, minor creases, pinholes, and small tears and fold separations. There are also a few faint smudges, and some staining on the verso can be seen very faintly in the left border. Overall, this poster displays very well.

    Estimate: $4,000 - $8,000.
