DescriptionA Midsummer Night's Dream (Warner Bros., 1935). Fine+ on Paper. Half Sheet (22" X 28").
Based on William Shakespeare's play, this adaptation brought some of Warner Bros. best talents to the production, including James Cagney, Olivia de Havilland, Dick Powell and comedian Joe E. Brown. As Cagney and the other performers did not appear on many of the posters including the one sheet, this half sheet is considered one of the best posters on the title. Although the poster was never folded, it still had some minor chips and rips in the borders and a tear extending from the top border down through the center of Cagney's face. Through professional restoration, these flaws have been corrected and the borders have been airbrushed.
Estimate: $1,500 - $3,000.
