    Description

    2001: A Space Odyssey (MGM, 1968). Cinerama One Sheet (27" X 41") Style B, with Letter (8.5" X 11"), Robert McCall Artwork.
Classical music took on a new turn in the revolutionary 2001: A Space Odyssey. Stanley Kubrick's visual discussion of mankind's continuing evolution used orchestral pieces like "The Blue Danube" and "Also Sprach Zarathustra" to remarkable effect. This very rare style B Cinerama poster is the incredible work of artist Robert T. McCall, who NASA commissioned to document their space program and became one of the foremost illustrators of space related images. Not many theaters were equipped for Cinerama screenings, meaning that few of these scarce Cinerama one sheets ever saw distribution. What's more, this poster was a gift from Kubrick to McCall and was from the artist's estate, as is verified by an included letter from McCall's daughter. Celebrating the film's 50th anniversary, Heritage is pleased to present this very rare piece, which shows slight edge wear, mild creasing, and a few unobtrusive smudges. Rolled, Very Fine+.
