Vitagraph Studios & Others Lot (1915). Felt Pennants (7) (Approx, 3" X 8.5"). Miscellaneous.
As silent films became established in American culture, the first film stars emerged, bringing new opportunities for merchandise and souvenirs. These seven felt pennants, which feature a star's image, name, and studio, are excellent examples of the over one hundred such pennants produced during that time. Stars include Julia Swayne Gordon and Flora Finch for Vitagraph Studios, Thomas Santschi and Eugenie Besserer for Selig Studios, Blanche Sweet for Lasky Feature Play Co., Clara Kimball Young for World Film, and Myrtle Stedman for Morosco Photoplay Co. Unrestored felt pennants with bright color and clean overall appearances. They may have general signs of use, such as slight edge wear, creases in the images, or very minor tears.
