    RKO Exhibitor's Book & Other Lot (RKO, 1944-1945). Spiral Bound Books (2) (Multiple Pages, 14.25" X 11" & 19" X 10").
Featured are two glorious original spiral-bound exhibitor's books, from RKO's 1944-1945 and Universal's 1934-1935 seasons. The books are positively chock-full of gorgeous spreads for all your favorite films of the day, from these legendary Hollywood studios. RKO's stable of stars and pictures included Walt Disney's The Three Caballeros, Tarzan and the Amazons with Johnny Weissmuller, Cary Grant and Ethel Barrymore in None But the Lonely Heart, Ginger Rogers in Situation Out of Hand, Tall in the Saddle starring John Wayne, Frank Sinatra in American Carnival, the arrival of Cantinflas, and so, so many more... Cal Laemmle and Universal's cinematic offerings for the year emphasized such classics as Dracula's Daughter by James Whale, Flash Gordon, Carole Lombard in the temporarily-titled Spinster Dinner (a.k.a. Love Before Breakfast), Western sensation Jack Holt in a bevy of films, and animated shorts from Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, along with mentions of ultimately unreleased adaptations of The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and Bluebeard with Boris Karloff. Both of the books' front covers show some edge wear, smudging, stains, and surface scuffing. The front cover of the RKO book also has paper lifts, paper loss, and a couple of tears - one of which has cellophane tape on the front. The printing of the front cover is coming away from the cardboard underneath, the spine has foxing, and some of the pages are becoming detached from the spine. Most of the inner pages, however, show very little wear! The Universal book has additional chips, wear, and moderate deterioration of the covers where they meet the spine. The inside pages are in mostly good condition, with just slight edge wear and some unobtrusive staining in the left and bottom borders. Overall Grade: Fine.
