Motion Picture Classic (Brewster Publications, 1922). Magazines (3) (Multiple Pages, 9.5" X 12.5") Benjamin Eggleston & L. Bechi Cover Artwork. Miscellaneous.
Offered here are the February, April, and June 1922 issues of the fabulous Motion Picture Classic - your window into the lives, loves and general goings-on of all your favorite V.I.P.s of the silent silver screen. These issues feature gorgeous cover art of Agnes Ayres and Hope Hampton by the talented Benjamin Eggleston, along with an original cover painting by L. Bechi, and the pages include all sorts of vintage advertisements, news articles, stories, and photo spreads on classic movie stars like Constance and Norma Talmadge, Erich von Stroheim, Jackie Coogan, Rudolph Valentino, Harold Lloyd, Mary Pickford, Alla Nazimova, director D.W. Griffith, designer Natacha Rambova, and so many more. Unrestored magazines that display signs of use. This may include some edge and spine wear, varying degrees of spine separation (of which the April issue is most significant), light creases, unobtrusive stains and smudges, faint scuffs, small tears, minor pen markings (including title and volume notations on the spines), and signs of light edge toning in the pages. Each of the issues has two to three pieces of cellophane tape on the outer spine, as well. The first sheet of pages in the April issue has also come away from the top staple, but remains attached at the bottom one. In the February issue, the Mildred Harris and Madge Bellamy portrait page has been removed, perhaps to hang on a teenager's vanity long ago. Please see full-color, enlargeable images above for more details. Overall Grade: Fine/Very Fine.
