    Description

Mary Miles Minter (Circa 1920). Albert Witzel Portrait Photo (8" X 10").
Mary Miles Minter had been in show business since the age of five but didn't make her screen debut until 1915 at 13 years old. She was groomed to follow in Mary Pickford's footsteps and was rapidly becoming one of the great stars of the era when tragedy struck. Her personal mentor and director, and also her lover, director William Desmond Taylor, was found dead, shot in a Hollywood bungalow. It was a scandal that would wreck her career and force her out of the movies. This fantastic image of the actress was taken in her prime and radiates the charm that lit up the screen. The photo shows only minimal wear to the edges. Vintage silver gelatin, double weight, matte finish photo. Very Fine.
