    Description

    Earl Moran Pin-up Card Lot (Brown & Bigelow, c. 1940s-1950s). Pin-up Cards (125) (2.75" X 3.25" - 3.25" X 4"). Miscellaneous.
Offered here are more than a hundred unique cards, culled from various Brown & Bigelow publications, from renowned pin-up artist Earl Moran - known in Hollywood for his early friendship with rising starlet Norma Jean Dougherty, a.k.a. the one and only Marilyn Monroe. This collection showcases his elegant and prolific style, and includes bevies of maidens in all sorts of scandalous yet demure costumes and poses. Many of the cards also feature fun poems and blurbs, like "I love the sparkling diamond, I adore the elegant mink. So don't come 'round and offer me the joys of a kitchen sink!" and "This chorine sweet, with graceful feet, was doing a dance fantastic: When she suddenly tore for the dressing room door -- with a comment about her elastic." Unrestored cards with bright colors and clean overall appearances. They may have general signs of use, such as slight edge wear and corner wear, light creases, or faint surface blemishes. One of the cards has an additional ink stamp in the image area, and a small tear. Please see full-color, enlargeable images above for more details. Overall Grade: Very Fine on Cardstock.
