DescriptionAmerican Red Cross (c.1917). Fine+. Trimmed Poster (10" X 11.5"). "The Greatest Mother in the World," Alonzo Earl Foringer Artwork. Miscellaneous.
A touching image used throughout the war, this illustration by Alonzo Earl Foringer compares the compassionate nurses of the Red Cross to the image of the Madonna found in Michelangelo's Pieta. An unrestored poster with good color and an overall very presentable appearance. It may have slight edge wear, mild creases, very small tears, minor paper lifts, thin surface scratches, and/or unobtrusive stains. There seems to be a slight trim along the side borders that extends into the printing with a possible trim of undetermined size in the top and bottom of the poster as well.
