    Description

50 Years of Movie Posters (Bounty Books, 1973). Spiral Bound Book (174 Pages, 12" X 17.25")
In the early 1970s, writer and collector John Kobal, put together an oversize book featuring page after page of classic film posters and other campaign material from the Golden Age of Hollywood. Included are black and white and color images of incredible film posters ranging from early silent classics such as The Jazz Singer and the Theda Bara version of Cleopatra, to memorable films from the 1930s and 40's including Libeled Lady, My Man Godfrey, Fifth Avenue Girl, Moon Over Miami, Gilda, The Blue Dahlia and The Outlaw, on into 1950s and 60s greats such as The Day the Earth Stood Still, Bus Stop, The Seven Year Itch and Dr. Strangelove Or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb, just to name a few of the hundreds found in this must-have compilation for any film buff. An unrestored book with bright color and a clean overall appearance on most pages. It may have general signs of use, such as edge wear, minor scuffs and soiling on the cover. Inside on the front and back covers, and in several pages throughout are hand-pasted vintage magazine and newspaper clippings relating to the film poster exhibited in the book. The title page has an inscription that reads: "7/21/90, For Bill, All the best to you, Michael Avallone." Please see full-color, enlargeable image below for more details. Fine/Very Fine.
