DescriptionMetropolis (UFA, 1927). Folded, Very Fine/Near Mint. Swedish One Sheet (27.5" X 39.25") John Mauritz "Moje" Aslund Artwork.
Collectors should be thrilled at the chance to own this gorgeous Heritage debut item from Fritz Lang's science fiction masterpiece. Swedish artist John Mauritz "Moje" Åslund keeps with the director's striking German Expressionist visuals in his portrait of Brigitte Helm, a unique illustration unlike any other contemporary poster image for the film. Original paper from Metropolis is a rare find no matter the country and rarely do they ever come in such impeccable condition as this vibrant Swedish one sheet. It is in exceptional shape and shows very few signs of age, displaying only a minute pinpoint crossfold separation and some very faint dust shadows at the edges and folds. There is a small piece of paper adhered to the verso that is not visible on the front. Overall, it is a superb item in terms of both condition and imagery perfect for any fan of Fritz Lang's most famous film.
Estimate: $15,000 - $30,000.
